What is Sintered Stone
Sintered Stone provides a complete benchtop solution that integrates technology, quality, value, aesthetics, performance, and compliance. Sintered Stone is distinct from ‘engineered stone’ as per the WorkSafe guidelines, ensuring full compliance with Commonwealth government regulations. In contrast to engineered stone, sintered surfaces are entirely natural, free from metal compounds or resin binders. Featuring 100% UV stability and complete impermeability, the versatile Sintered Stone is suitable for a wide range of applications in Australian homes.
What is Sintered Stone?
Sintered Stone is composed entirely of minerals and created through high-temperature heat processes (over 1000°C). In contract to engineered stone which utilises resins for binding, Sintered Stone does not contain any binders. The minerals undergo intense heat and pressure, causing them to fuse together, effectively becoming self-binding.
*Did you know – Sintered Stone is generated by 25,000 tons of uniform pressure (2.5 times the weight of the Eiffel Tower!). As a result of this ultra-compaction process, Sintered Stone has no micro-defects that cause tensions or weak points.
Durability
Sintered Stone exhibits exceptional durability. It can withstand direct contact with hot pans without melting or scorching. Unlike engineered stone or zero silica benchtops, you can place your hot pan directly from the oven onto your Sintered Stone benchtop. The material is resistant to chopping, cutting, scratching, staining, and scoring, showing minimal to no impact.
