Modern perfection De-Clutter Your Kitchen In Seven Days
Your kitchen is the heart of your home. It is one of the busiest areas and is therefore difficult to keep uncluttered. Take the seven day challenge below and re-claim your kitchen!
DAY 1: Crockery
Go through your crockery and purge chipped or broken items. Re-assess the number of items you own. Do you really need 20 dinner plates for a family of four?
DAY 2: Glassware and Cookware
Glassware – purge chipped or broken items. Re-assess the number you own.
Cookware – purge broken items or ones with missing lids (unless you can cook without a lid). Consider how much space you have to store cookware and re-assess what to keep.
DAY 3: Food Storage Containers
Purge containers with missing lids (or vice versa) and anything warped or badly stained. Purge excess containers.
DAY 4: Cutlery and Utensil Drawers
Purge any items that are broken, warped, heat damaged or duplicates.
DAY 5: Fridge
Purge expired items, spoiled food or food you are unlikely to use again.
DAY 6: Appliance Cupboard
Purge broken appliances or any you no longer use.
DAY 7: Pantry
Remove all pantry contents and relocate anything that doesn’t belong there. Purge expired items or products you are unlikely to use. Put everything back but group items for a more streamlined pantry (e.g. place all condiments together).
Note:
- When purging items, consider whether they can be donated or recycled.
- Purge items which haven’t been used in 12 months.
